We are so very excited!! Ian won the B93.7 Bee Baby Idol contest. They announced on the show today that they have roughly 3000 entries. They then selected 10 finalists and Ian was one of them!!
Then, the voting began. Ian was in the bottom 3 twice. However, he made it to the top 2!! He and Jack were the final 2. The interesting part of the whole thing was that Jack's grandfather, Roy Schumpert, works as a supply clerk at McCormick, one of Milliken's plants. Roy had the entire purchasing area voting for Jack. I had all of Information Services voting for Ian. So, it turned into a battle from within Milliken.
After much recruiting and pulling out all the stops on Thursday, they announced this morning that 51 votes separated the 2 babies and that the winner of the Bee Baby Idol was, Ian Michael Thomas! I also found out from the radio station that Ian received a total of 469 votes.
We win a $500 gift card to USA baby and a $300 gift card to Earthfare. We are in desperate need of a new car seat...so that will be the first purchase we make with our prize!
We cannot wait to tell Ian about this when he gets older...and thank everybody for all their support over the last 2 weeks!
