Day 24...66 to go!!

OK...so I feel like I just got out of a fighting match! I just finished Kenpo X. It is a lot of kicks, jabs, elbows, blocks, and punches. It again is an intense video. I know I sound like a broken record...but I am telling you...there is not one single P90X video where I am like...hmmm...yeah...that one needs a little more intensity. It DOESN'T exist! It is probably not the smartest idea to BRING IT right before bedtime...but when you work until 5...then feed a 1 year old...eat yourself...go to choir practice...get home at 9...put your 1 year old to bed...then the only time left to work out is right before bedtime.

Alrighty...well...I still have to get things ready for tomorrow. If only there were a few more hours in a day. ;) Then, again...that would probably mean that many more hours I would be busy.

Another successful day in our P9oX journey!

Day 23...67 to go!

Today was swimming and Core Synergistics.

Dodi and I left at 4PM to go to the Swim Center to get in our swim training. Today, I did the following:

150 meters of warmup (any stroke)
25 meters of swimming on left side
25 meters of swimming on right side
25 meters of swimming with chest down/hips up
25 meters of GOLF (taking the fewest strokes as possible)
2 X 50 meters of swimming
2 X 75 meters of swimming
Cool down (any stroke)

Then, when I got home...it was time for Core Synergistics. It was a little tougher than I expected...but I pushed through it. Some of the exercises I am really going to have to work on and master...but overall it was another good workout. I am drained. I don't know why I feel so blah...but I do.

I know this is a short post...but I'm just tired...and so I think I am going to head to bed.

Hope my plants don't get hurt tonight with the low of 35...BRRRRrrrr...what happened to summer?

Day 22...68 to go!

I did the Cycle class today at Peak. Another intense class! Although, today I had my towel with me...and I used it often. That class is great...you can totally control the tension and how hard you work out.

Then, after I got home, I fed Ian and played with him awhile. He is really starting to walk well. He now takes about 6 to 7 steps in between me and Jason and then he lunges into your arms. We back up and back up...but the momentum starts to catch up with him...and then he falls. He's getting so close though. I imagine in the next few weeks...he'll be hard to keep up with!

As for my P90X today...I attempted to do Yoga. However...the video kept freezing up on me so I was only able to do about 15 mins. of it. So, Dodi had made me another copy and I am going to make it up on Sunday with the X Stretch.

This is the recovery week...and I am wondering when I am going to get a recovery week from the recovery week!

Day 21...69 to go!!!

Wow...I feel great! I just finished the X Stretch video...and it's so neat how good you feel after a solid hour of stretching. I finished the X Stretch video right after the Kenpo video.

So, I have officially completed 3 weeks of my P90X journey!!

The 4th week is our recovery week. It will involve Yoga, X Stretch, and Core exercises. No weights...but I hear that it is not necessarily an "easy" week. Not to mention, Dodi and I have our triathlon training still going on. We are still planning on participating in the August Greenville Sprint Tri. I just really want to say I have completed one.

Alrighty...time to get Ian's bag ready for tomorrow as well as my workout bag.

Night!

Spring is in the air!

Here are some pics from around my yard. Some things I planted yesterday and others are plants I have planted in the past. I LOVE this time of year!

Day 20...70 to go!

Today I woke up, played with Ian, gave him his bottle (my favorite time...he is so cuddly on Saturday morning as he takes his bottle and watched Tigger and Pooh!), fed him strawberry and creme oatmeal, and headed to Emma's 9AM soccer game.

After that it was PLANT time! Yay! I love this time of year! I came home with all kinds of goodies...and will post some pics tomorrow. I sat Ian in his jumperoo outside with me while I planted...and he LOVED it. He kept laughing and I kept splashing his feet with the hose as I watered stuff. He's going to love the pool this summer...and I can't wait!

So, after some planting, I met Dodi at the Swim Center for some swim training. We did really well I thought. Jason outlined a routine for us that included some warm up, drills, laps, and cool down. We have a ways to go...but I know we'll get there! After all, Dodi's right, we couldn't even run 1/2 a mile when we first started running...now look where we are. Everything takes time and practice...and we both have enough determination to make this happen! Besides...look at us in our P90X journey!

Speaking of P90X...today was Kenpo. I haven't been able to fit that in because Emma had a dance recital that I wanted to go to at 7PM. I wasn't able to go last year because Ian was just a few days old...so I wanted to make it this year. They were soo cute in their outfits and made me really miss my dancing and cheerleader days! Hopefully I'll have a girl someday who will be able to enoy those same things I did as a little girl.

Since I wasn't able to fit in the Kenpo...I'm going to do it tomorrow with the stretch video.

Day 19...71 to go!

Dodi and I did our P90X video during lunch today (Legs and Back). The wall squats were tough...but I managed to stay in position for the full minute. It was not easy...but you just have to breathe through it!!

After work, we headed to the Swim Center to get our swim in for today...only to find that the gates were locked. So, we're going to try to get up there tomorrow sometime.

Tomorrow, is going to be another packed day...Emma's soccer game at 9AM and dance recital at 7PM. I have to also fit in Kenpo and swimming.

Ian had a terrible coughing attack that woke him up at 10PM...so we did a breathing treatment. He has been coughing a little more each day since Wed...and I am afraid we are in for a long night...because he's been coughing on and off since we put him to bed around 8:45PM. I just don't understand why he has been so sick so often. I guess because he's in daycare. Anyways...while he's breathing treatment was going on (it takes about 30 mins.)...Jason and I did the Ab Ripper video. I actually really like the Ab Ripper video...and I am starting to see positive results!

Also on my to do list for tomorrow...buy plants! That's right...I have gotten the Spring Fever...and it's time to plant again! Yipee!

Good night!

Yahoo...3.1 miles without stopping!

Today after work I went to Peak to run. Well, I ran 3.1 miles without stopping! I am so excited! I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to my time. I walked a tenth of a mile to warm up and that took about 2 mins...and I finished around 36:something...so I am guessing I was in the 34 range again...which is what I finished the Zebras Run in. So, I can definitely see progress. Two months ago...I couldn't even do 1 mile!

Well, Ian is in the bed...and I am heading there myself!

Day 18...72 days to go!

Since we only have an hour for lunch...we condensed the Yoga video down today to right at an hour. We skipped some of the more advanced poses...but getting in a solid hour of Yoga is pretty good.

I took Ian to daycare this morning...so Jason is going to pick him up. So, right after work, I am heading to Peak to get my running in for my triathlon training. I am planning to run for about 30 mins. The training plan we are going by has us running 20 mins. for the first run...however...we have been running 30+ mins already in preparation for our 5K's. So, I'm going to shoot for around 30. My goal is to run the 5K piece of the triathlon continuously, with a good pace while continuing to shave off a few mins of my time.

One thing I have noticed during all of this is that I am constantly hungry...but I am constantly eating. Like today, for breakfast I had a boiled egg, bacon, low-fat strawberry yogurt. For a snack I had one of the South Beach Diet Protein cereal bars (10g of protein)...which by the way was very good! I just finished lunch...I had flounder, beans, and a broccoli/carrot/cauliflower mix. But I am still hungry! So, I ate string cheese. For my afternoon snack, I brought carrot sticks...which I will eat while drinking my protein drink. So, I'm still sticking to the diet for the most part. We do allow ouselves a weekly cheat...like Sunday I had some of Ian's chocolate birthday cake. YUM!

So, we're still doing well...almost done with week 3!!! Next week is our recovery week! Yahoo!

Day 17...73 to go!

During lunch today, we did the arms and shoulders video. It was a good workout! I really do enjoy these videos...especially the timer at the bottom of the screen. For me, I can push myself knowing that in 30 secs, this exercise will be done...and each exercise is like that...so anybody can do something for 30 secs.

After work, Jason, me, Ian, my mom, sister and nieces went to Union to visit my grandmother. It is her birthday today!!!

We got home about 9:30PM, after stopping by Food Lion to pick up some diapers since we used our last one at my grandmother's house...and after we got Ian down and his bag ready for tomorrow...we put in the AB Ripper video. The title of this workout says it all. You can modify some of these exercises to make them more difficult. I try to do the more difficult position for a few of the reps...but haven't gotten to the point where I can do the more difficult position for the whole set. I'm getting there though. Hey...having a baby really does something to your abdominal muscles...so it is much harder to do these exercise post Ian...but I can tell that my muscles are getting stronger...and I am slowly starting to see the signs of a six pack! WHOO HOO!

Alrighty...that's all for tonight! Good Night!

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Day 16...74 to go!

Today was another packed day!! Instead of doing P90X at work...we just grabbed a quick lunch and left early (at 4PM) to go to the Swim Center and get in some swimming time. It was interesting to be in the pool after so long of not being in one. I used to be a life guard for the pool at Three Pines Country Club...but it's been awhile. It's definitely going to take some work to get to the point where I can swim 6-8 laps without stopping...but hey...this was our first day of the swim training...so it's all good. Jason met us up there around 4:15 and gave us some tips to help make us more efficient in the water. The more efficient we are...the less energy we use...and the faster we will be.

Dodi and I in our unflattering swim gear:

Coach Jason giving us tips on how to become more efficient in the water:

Here I am swimming laps the wrong way:

After I left the pool...I came home and did the P90X Plyometrics video. This is definitely the hardest video for me by far...it's just a lot of jumping around. Again...it's cardio...which is my weakest area. I can tell though that it is getting better. I am able to go much longer without feeling like my lungs are going to explode.

After Plyometrics...I loaded Ian up and we headed to Jason's softball game.

We finally got home a little while ago and I fed and played with Ian for a little while. Then it was Ian's bath and bedtime. He is such a sweet baby and changing everyday it seems.

Alrighty...well...I'm tired and I am going to bed now!

Monday, April 21, 2008

Day 15...75 to go!!

Today was a packed day, as we started our triathlon training today. During lunch we did the P90X Chest and Back video. Then, we went and had lunch which was Tilapia, edamame, pinto beans, and an apple.

Then, right after work, I went to Peak and went to the Cycle class from 5:45 to 6:30. It was very intense. Although you can make it as intense as you want....because you can adjust the tension on the bike. It was a great workout though. I need to remember to bring a towel next time...I was sweating buckets...and just had my workout top to keep wiping it away. Talk about smelling good!

After I left Peak, I went to Academy and bought a one piece Nike swim suit, a swim cap, and goggles. Dodi and I are going to the Swim Center tomorrow around 4 to start our swim training. Jason is actually going to come up there as well and give us some pointers.

After I got home from Academy...my sweet husband had fixed a good healthy supper!! Ian jumped up and down in his jumperoo while we ate. Then, we noticed that a brown substance was starting to slide down his leg as he jumped! Yep...it was poo and it did not smell good! It was kind of funny though. So, Jason picked him up and took him in the nursery. I helped get his outfit off without dragging poo across his face...and Jason wiped his legs and bottom off. Sorry for the details...but hey...it was part of my day! Then, Jason took him and bathed him as I went to the grocery store for milk and a few other necessities.

Finally, when I got home just about an hour ago, I got Ian's bag ready for tomorrow and then Jason and I did the Ab Ripper video. It was tough for me tonight...not because of the exercises...but because I don't have much energy left in me. I bet I am going to sleep good tonight!

Well, still going strong with the P90x journey...and adding triathlon training on top of it. Are we nuts or what?!!

4/20/2008 - Ian's first birthday!!

Ian turned 1 today! It was a fun day! I can't believe a year has passed by already...it went by so fast. Ian has just started walking. He does very well when he holds on to something or to someone. He hasn't mastered walking by himself yet...but it won't be long.

We had a little party for him from 3-5 in the Family Life Center. Just family and a few friends:

Ian, Jason, Julie,
Mere and Pop (my mom and dad)
Papa and Nanna (aka Shimmy and Jerry - Jason's parents)
Shane, Erin, Emma, and Morgan Bulman (my sister, brother-in-law, and nieces)
Gurney (my mom's mom, great grandmother to Ian)
Mildred (Sherri's momma - great grandmother to Ian)
Sarabeth, Anna, Leah and Nick Gregory (Aunt and cousins)
Bob, Amanda, and Ansley Lawson (good friends from high school)
Brooke Parris and Greyson (Clemson roommate)
Beth Murphy (good church friends - Jon Carter, Ian's buddy, who just turned 1 a few months ago was supposed to come but couldn't because of 103 fever and brochiolitis)
Dodi Leslie (my co-worker who made Ian's cakes - a little soccer ball for him to smash into and a cake in the shape of a 1)

We had fun singing to him:

watching him laugh:

watching him smash into cake:

watching him open presents:

watching him walk and play on the floor:

After his party...he was tuckered out:

We had a great day!! Ian is truly a gift from God and we look forward to celebrating many more of Ian's birthdays!

Zebras Do Exist 5K Charity Run/Walk

I ran in the 1st Annual Zebras Do Exist 5K at Dorman. You can read more about it at www.zebrasdoexist.com. I finished in 34:44...which is ~2 mins better than my time in the Earth Run. I did stop 2 or 3 times...but it was only for a few feet at a time. So, overall, I consider it a success...the fact that I didn't give up and walk the rest of the way. Cardio is still a hard thing for me...but I am hoping that this P90x and training for my 1st triathlon will help improve that area.

The race was a complete success. Whereas we have a list of improvements for next year, we thought it ran very smoothly for a first year race with 288 participants.

After the awards ceremony, I brought Ian home and put him down for a nap. He took about a 2 hour nap...which gave me time to do the Kenpo video! I couldn't believe I had enough in me after a 5K to go home and do one of the P90X videos...but it wasn't that bad.

Tomorrow is Ian's first birthday! I'm so excited!! I'll be posting pics of him smashing into his soccer ball cake!!

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Yoga at home

OK...so I didn't get to do Yoga at Milliken today with Dodi. I did it at home because daycare called me today around 12 saying that Ian's eye was bright red and oozing and for me to come and get him. So, I brought him home, fed him lunch, put drops in his eyes, put him down for a nap, finished working...and then I did Yoga.

So, not sure what Ian has...but Jason has the same thing. Jason's eyes look awful...worse than Ian's. Whatever it is...it needs to go away before Sunday, Ian's first birthday!!

Day 11...79 to go!

We have a conference call today at 11 during our usual workout time...so we're just going to go downstairs afterwards, grab a something to eat, and then go downstairs to do Yoga at 4PM.

Ian woke up again last night at 2:30AM crying. Not sure what is going on with him this week. He has been sleeping through the night for months now...and all of sudden, he is crying in the middle of the night. I gave him another bottle last night and he sucked it dry in like 2 mins. again. I guess maybe he's going through a growth spurt and requiring more food than normal?! Not sure...but it is taking a toll on me and Jason.

Jason and I have a lot to do to get ready for the race on Saturday. We're going to be stuffing registration packets tonight and tomorrow...so our house if full of Zebras stuff! As of last night, we have 212 registered. So, it should be lots of fun!

Day 10...80 to go!

Today was shoulders and arms. I went up in weight on a few of the exercises. Some I stayed the same. Triceps are still a very weak area for me...so I am really going to strive to increase my weight on the those exercises. By the way...my co-workers and I are having fun with the muscle jokes. Some of them are:
1.) Do you have tickets? To the gun show?! (flexing the biceps each time).
2.) Do you know the number of a good vet? Cuz these calves are sick!
3.) Do you have a band-aid? Cuz I am cut! (again flexing the muscles!)

I just did the Ab Ripper video. Jason did it again with me...3 times now!!

Even though it is 10:15PM...I'm going to now clean my house some...and then hit the sack.

Still feeling great...and still on track...80 days to go!

Day 9...81 to go!

Today was plyometrics again. It is still one of the most difficult workouts for me. It's a lot of jumping and squats...so it is definitely a cardio workout as well. It's getting easier for me...or maybe it's just that I know what's coming now and I'm ready and willing to make myself work until that timer counts down to 0. =)

I am still trying to nail down the moves and give it my all. The only way to see results is to give it everything you've got and to really concentrate on form and the muscle that each exercise is geared towards. So, that is what I am trying to do.

Dodi and I are trying to do the workouts during lunch. So that we each have time for our other stuff at night. I was glad we got it done today during lunch because that enabled me to get to Emma's soccer game and Jason's softball game.

I'm really tired tonight though. Ian woke up at 1:30AM last night crying. We put his pacifier in and he went back to sleep...for an hour. At 2:30AM...he was up again crying and really unconsolable. Then, I realized...I forgot to give him his nighttime bottle. He had a pretty good dinner...but I left the bottle off. (not intentional...and I know that sounds horrible). So, I got up around 3AM after hoping he would just fall back asleep and fed him a bottle. He sucked that bottle dry in like 2 mins. He was hungry!! He immediately fell back asleep. So, I finally got back in bed around 3:45...but didn't fall back asleep until almost 5...so it was a long night. Hopefully tonight will be better.

X-Stretch

I didn't do the X-Stretch video yesterday...because I was worn out and didn't want to stay up any longer. So, I did the X-Stretch video tonight after a 3 mile run and Ab Ripper video.

I felt tight all over and that stretching has really helped!

Tomorrow is plyometrics...which is a tough video. Dodi and I plan on doing it during lunch.

Still on track on my P90X journey...82 days to go!

Day 8...82 to go!

I just got through with the Chest and Back video during lunch. It was another good workout. This is the video with all of the pushups and is probably my weakest area. I gave it my all again today. I just think of the number of reps that I would like to do...and I do my best to get to that number without losing my form.

For my diet, I have had a boiled egg, protein bar, bacon, and milk today. I am getting ready to eat chicken and asparagus. For my afternoon snack I will be eating almonds with a protein drink. Not sure about dinner yet...but will probably be pork chops with broccoli.

I will be doing the Ab Ripper video tonight when I get home. Then, after that, I am going to try to get to Peak and run 3 miles. I didn't get my 3 mile run in this weekend...was way too busy and couldn't fit it in. So, I am not sure if I will be able to make it through the entire course without stopping this weekend, because Jason says it is a little more difficult than the Earth Run. However...I am going to do my best!!

So, we'll see!

Anyways...I have completed my first full week of P90x! I've stuck with it thus far and plan to continue to stick with it until the end! I feel great!

Next Monday, we start adding in some biking and swimming in preparation for our first triathlon in July!

Zebras Do Exist 5K Charity Run/Walk

There was an article in today's paper about Jason and Will organizing the Zebras Do Exist 5K Charity run/walk that will be held at Dorman next Saturday, April 19th.

I'm going to be running the race...and I am very excited about it.

The race is to raise money for Nick and Sam Napier. They have a rare disease called Ehlors-Danlos. You can go to www.zebrasdoexist.com to find out more information.

Also, you can visit www.goupstate.com to read the article.

Day 7...83 to go!

Ok...so today I didn't do so well with the diet. I admit...I had ice cream at my sister's baby shower (dairy right?!) as well as 2 glasses of strawberry tea (fruit right?!). They were small glasses! Eeek! Oh well...back to the grind tomorrow!

I woke up this morning to a very sore back. I couldn't believe how sore it was...I guess from all the side and back kicks from the Kenpo video. Although, it got better throughout the day as I got up and go moving.

I honestly have not stopped going at all this weekend. It has been an extremely busy and packed weekend. So, as far as the workout schedule goes...today was either rest or X-Stretch video. I chose to REST. I believe REST is very important sometimes and I believe your body tells you things like, "YOU NEED REST!" So, I'm listening tonight...because tomorrow is yet another brutal workout.

Besides, my husband and son are both sick. Ian woke up this morning with both eyes very red, crusty, and swollen. Jason is in the bed as I type at 9:45PM complaining with pink swollen eyes, sore throat, and body aches. So, when I got home from church, I bathed Ian, put his pj's on, fed him a bottle, brushed his teeth, put drops in his eyes, put saline drops in his nose, filled his humidifier, gave him Tylenol and put him to bed. Just got through putting a load of Ian's laundry in the washing maching and getting his diaper bag ready for tomorrow...that is if he is able to go to daycare tomorrow.

Whew...see what I mean...my body is telling me to REST! =)

Still...another successful day in my P90X journey...83 to go!

Good Night!

Saturday, April 12, 2008

Day 6...84 to go!

Today I did the Kenpo video. It was like Taebo...in that it was kicks and punches. I thought it was another great workout. I really enjoyed it. So far today, I have had a protein drink, a boiled egg, string cheese and blueberries.

Now, I am off to shower and run the many errands that I have to run today. I have to get things for Erin's Baby Shower tomorrow and Ian's 1st birthday party next Sunday!!

Tonight, I am going to try and run 3 miles...gotta get ready for the Zebras Do Exist 5K next Saturday!!

Yet another successful day in the P90X journey...84 to go!

Friday, April 11, 2008

Day 5...85 to go!

Today was legs and back and abs. So, Dodi and I did the legs and back video during lunch. It was a great workout. Not once did I feel that I couldn't make it through it like I felt when I did plyometrics. My legs felt great afterwards.

I stuck to the diet again as well. I had my usual boiled egg, bacon, and an apple for breakfast. A protein bar and almonds for a snack. I had baked chicken with green beans and blueberry yogurt for lunch. For supper I had broiled flounder and salad.

I am craving the sweet tea and chocolate right now though...but I am going to stick to the diet the best I can! It is tough...but I believe that the best results will come from sticking to the diet as closely as possible.

Tonight, Jason is going to do the Ab Ripper video with me!! Ian is in the bed and we are going to do 350 abs. Yeah!!

I feel great! This was another successful day in my P90X journey...85 to go!

Day 4...86 to go!

Today was Yoga. I had a very full day today. It was so full that I could only do about half of the yoga video. I'm planning on doing the remainder of the video tomorrow night.

For my diet today, I had a boiled egg, bacon, and an orange for breakfast. I had a protein bar, and almonds for snacks. For lunch, I had chicken, lima beans, peaches, and a salad. For supper I had a grilled chicken salad.

So, another successful day in the P90x journey...86 to go!

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Day 3...87 to go!

Today was shoulders, arms, and abs. The Abs Ripper video did not seem as hard today as it did Monday. Maybe because I knew what I had coming! I really gave it my all.

The arms and shoulders video was not bad at all. I pushed through every exercise. I stuck mostly with the 8lbs...but went up to 10 lbs. on a few of the exercises. The 8lbs. were a little much though on some of the tricep exercises. I did the best I could though!

I stuck to the diet again too.

So...another successful day in my P90X journey...87 to go!!

Day 2...88 to go!

Today was plyometrics. Talk about another intense video. You were jumping and doing squats every 30 secs...for an hour...with 3-4 1 min. water breaks. It was crazy. I had to hit pause a couple of times due to Ian. He was extremely fussy...and not wanting to be contained anywhere. So, I would do several excercises and then hit pause to move Ian from the jumperoo to the pack N play. Then, more exercises, pause, move Ian from the pack N play to the high chair with cheerios. Finally, I just let him crawl around and tried not to jump on his head.

For my diet today, I had a boiled egg, bacon, and blueberries for breakfast. For morning snack, protein bar, with Coke Zero (our recovery drink!!). For lunch, we had turkey on wheat with a bowl of chili. For afternoon snack, I had string cheese with a protein drink. Then, for dinner, Jason and I had lemon chicken with salad and squash.

So, another successful day in the P90X journey. I am definitely sore...but that tells me I am doing something right! So, so far so good...88 days left!

Monday, April 7, 2008

Day 1...89 to go!

Yes...Dodi and I completed Day 1 of the 90 days...GO US! lol

We followed the protein diet today very well. She had to keep me on track at lunch though. ;) We had a boiled egg, bacon, and a apple for breakfast. For a morning snack we had a protein bar and a Coke Zero! For lunch, we had a pork loin and a salad with egg and sunflower seeds, with a protein drink. For an afternoon snack, I had almonds, and Dodi had string cheese. For dinner, Jason and I are going to have salmon, broccoli and a potato.

For our workout, we did the chest, back and Ab Ripper videos. Talk about intense. The chest/back video was approximately 50 mins. The Ab Ripper was 16 mins. and we ended up doing approximately 300 abs. Although I wasn't able to complete each exercise...I did the most I could do without messing up my form too much.

Overall, it was a tough workout and one that I can see getting better at now that I know the routine and approximately the number of reps that I can do.

Fit Test

I was rather disappointed in my Fit test numbers. I don't really know what I was expecting...but I was expecting a little better. Here they are:

Resting heart rate: 70
Pull-ups: 1
Vertical Leap: 15''
Push-ups: 40
Toe Touch: -2.5''
Wall Squat: 1 min 31 secs 0 weight
Bicep curls: 14 10lbs
Ab in and outs: 30
Heart rate immediately after 2 mins. of jumping jacks: 192
after 1 min: 132
after 2 mins: 108
after 3 mins: 102
after 4 mins: 96

Although I was disappointed with my numbers...it excites me to think about how much improvement there will be in 90 days.

We begin our 90 day journey tomorrow!

P90X

Dodi and I are going to start P90X...a training program to help you get ripped in 90 days. You have to work out everyday for 90 days and take pictures on Days 1, 30, 60 and 90. Here are a few before pics:

Dodi has created a diet for us to follow too...where the first 4 weeks is protein, the second 4 weeks is 1/2 protein, 1/2 carbs, and the last 4 weeks is mostly carbs.
My measurements before are:
Body Fat % - 16.1
Weight - 111
Waist - 28
Hips - 34.5
Right Thigh - 18
Left Thigh - 18
Right Arm - 9
Left Arm - 9
We are planning on doing the FIT test this weekend, April 5th, to give us a baseline to see how much we improve over the course of 90 days.
People keep asking us, why are you doing this...you don't need to lose weight. My response is, we're not doing this to lose weight...we are doing this to obtain more definition in areas that we are not happy with and to maintain our level of fitness.
Hopefully, we'll stick to this and be able to see much improvement after 90 days. I'll post periodically on our progress.
In August we hope to participate in the Greenville Sprint Triathlon!!

Jason ran another race - 8K in Laurens

Jason ran another race last weekend, April 29th...the same day I ran the Milliken Earth Run 5K. Jason finished in 2nd in his age group (20-29). He ran it in 33 mins. 27 secs.

Milliken Earth Run

Dodi and I decided that we were going to try running again. So, we signed up for the Milliken Earth Run.

We trained at Peak for about 4 weeks prior to the race.
We ran the Earth Run in 36 mins. and 50 secs. Below are some pics.

Next, we run the Zebras Do Exist Charity 5K at Dorman on April 19th! We hope to finish that race in 35 mins. or less.
