ROUGH NIGHT

It all started about 1:30am. I heard Ian crying.

First of all, I should start out this post by saying Ian has done exceptionally well and has slept all night for 2 months straight (basically from the first day we moved into our new house). We are definitely attributing all those nights that he would wake up 4 and 5 times a night to living on that busy 5 lane road. For those that don't know where our old house is, it is right in front of Roebuck Elementary and about a 100 yards away from a 5 lane highway. So, the constant traffic (and yes...cars/trucks/ambulances/fire trucks/police cars constantly go by even at 3AM in Roebuck SC)...we believe...is what would constantly wake Ian up and scare him.

Since we have been in our new house...he has slept all night every night...and I can't tell you how WONDERFUL that has been. It's amazing what a good night sleep can do for ya.

Anyways...to continue the story...Ian was crying and I went in there to check on him since it is unusal for him to cry at night these days. Well, he was fine. Still not sure why he was awake...but you could tell he was NOT sleepy. After 3 more times of going in there and telling him he needed to lay down and go to sleep, we thought he was finally down for the remainder of the night.

WRONG!

About 2:30, Ian shows up in our doorway again. This is the 2nd time he has climbed out of his crib (He did it about a month ago). He stood there and just kept saying, "Daddy seepin". Um, yes Ian, that is what we do at 2:30am...we SEEP. So, Jason gets up and takes him back to his crib.

About 3:00am, Ian shows up in our doorway AGAIN. "Daddy seepin". Actually NO, we're NOT SEEPIN, you keep gettin out of your crib and coming into our bedroom waking us up! So, Jason got up again, threatened him with his life (just kidding!), and put him back to bed.

Never heard another word. However, he has obviously definitely mastered getting out of the crib. So, even though he never got back up, I had a hard time going to sleep for trying to listen for our roaming child.

Anyway...we know...it's time for a toddler bed. Good thing we ordered it back in JANUARY! It's crazy the shipping time on these things. As background info, we bought our crib from USA Baby...it's one that converts to a full eventually. Well, they have a rail that you can buy to convert it to a toddler bed. As I mentioned, we ordered it in January and they told us 8-10 weeks. So, they called Monday and said it was on backorder until May. There is no need to go buy a toddler bed, when the rail is supposed to come in a month. So, we're just going to have to hope that last night's episode doesn't become a nightly occurence.

I'm very tird today and can't keep my eyes open. Hopefully tonight will be a better night!
