Why?

We are definitely in the WHY stage!! Ian has always been a curious kid...so it doesn't surprise me that he is already wanting to know Why this works or Why that happened?

On July 14th, I had my first encounter with the WHY question. We were driving home from daycare and I was asking Ian what all they did that day at school. After he told me a little about his day, he then asked me where we were going. Our church was doing VBS at the time, so I told him we were going to our church to VBS. Ian said, "Why?" I said, "To learn about God." Ian, "Why?" Me, "Because he loves us!" Ian, "Why?" At this point, I quoted John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, will have everlasting life!" SILENCE! Whew!!

I try my hardest to have an explanation for his WHY's...but after the 7th WHY, it gets hard!! I have to confess...I have used the "because I said so!" I try to avoid it...but there are just times when you have to use it!

I love that Ian is so curious though. His little brain is soaking up everything right now...so I'm really trying to use each WHY as a learning opportunity!
