Our pastor, Jim, and his wife, Becky, invited us to go up to Charlotte with them and visit one of the Samaritan's Purse Operation Shoe Box warehouses. Jason, Ian, and I participate each year in filling shoeboxes for children all around the world. We fill them with all kinds of things such as toy trucks, balls, candy, socks, soap, toothbrushes, etc. Most importantly, the gospel is placed in each shoebox in all different languages! This operation has been a HUGE success. Seeing what all they do at the warehouse is incredible. I would love to go on one of the trips one day to distribute the shoeboxes. Maybe one day!
While we were there, we met Greta Van Susteren. She was down to visit with Franklin to discuss their upcoming trip to Haiti! It was wild because we heard her speak at the warehouse...but we weren't able to meet her there. However, after we left the warehouse, we went to the Billy Graham Library and that's where we actually got to meet her. So cool!
The Billy Graham Library is AWESOME! It was so interesting. If you ever get a chance to go, you should. They have what they call the "journey of faith" and you literally walk from room to room and experience the life of Billy Graham. What an incredible man! There are all kinds of memorabilia and things from Mr. Graham's life. Very interesting!
