Up until today, Ian has not wanted to go under water. He would put his face in the water for like a second or two and pop right back up. He took swim lessons for 2 weeks at the end of May, but really never liked going under water...and hasn't since. He usually swallowed half the pool and started crying and wouldn't try anymore. He hasn't really liked jumping in either. Jason and I have been trying our best to get him to jump in to us, but we have to be like right near the wall and pretty much catch him as soon as he enters the water.
However, today, he overcame his fear of going under!!!! I am so excited and so proud of him! Not only did he overcome his fear of going under, he jumped off the diving board! He was so very excited that he did it over and over and over again! I am so thankful for this HUGE step, because I believe he'll enjoy going to the pool so much more now!
I have posted a video below of one of the MANY times he jumped off the diving board, as well as our Gunter friends, Hannah and Abby, jumping off the scaffolding that the Wolfe boys set up near the deep end! Ian wasn't brave enough to try that...lol! Jason and I enjoyed jumping off of it though! :) Thank you Wolfes for letting us take a swim while checking the chemicals!
