Ian's recovery

We woke up at 5:30AM and got ready. We then got Ian up, changed his diaper, and were out the door by 5:50AM. We arrived at the Surgery Center at the Village on Pelham on Hwy. 14 at 6:30AM after driving through McDonald's for a biscuit and hashbrowns.

They took us back about 7:00AM and I put Ian's gown on and they stuck a temperature sticker on his head to monitor his temp. They said that they would be putting a mask on him with a little gas to put him to sleep. They said that they would not be using an IV since the procedure was such a quick one.

They took him back at 7:30AM. We were called back at 7:45AM...they were through. We waited in a little waiting room for what seemed like forever...but was only about 5 mins. Dr. Wier came and got us and took us back to the recovery area.

Ian was not a happy camper. However, they said he did very well. Dr. Wier said he got a lot of thick fluid out of his left ear...and some out of his right ear. However, he said the fluid in his right ear was more watery.

We fed him a bottle while they monitored his vitals and then we were out of there.

Our minister of music, Mr. Bill Selman, arrived at the surgery center around 7:00AM. He had a word of prayer and then sat with us while they performed the procedure.

We finally arrived home around 8:30AM. All 3 of us laid down and took about a 3 hour nap. It was nice and dark and a good day for a nap.

After Ian's nap, he was a happy boy! I worked the remainder of the afternoon from home and gave my baby TLC in between work tasks. Now...we just wait for the benefits of the tubes!
