Happy Thanksgiving 2011!

I am happy to say that Thanksgiving 2011 was MUCH better than Thanksgiving 2010!  :)  No house fires!

It started early this year!  Jason always runs the Turkey Day 8K...but this year, I decided to run it too.  Thank you to my mom for coming over so early, despite having to cook, and keeping the kids for us to be able to do that together.  It was a lot of fun and I actually ran the whole thing without stopping in about 44 min at an avg. 8.44 min/mile!  Erin, Jessica, and Starla, 3 of my running buddies, ran as well.  We missed our other running buddies!  Thank you to Chris Rider, Jessica's husband, for taking some pictures!

After the race, we went to Union and actually got to sit down with family this year and enjoy turkey, dressing, rice, giblet gravy, etc.  It was wonderful!  As we sat down to eat, Ian wanted to announce what he was thankful for...his sister and God!  Amen!  I love that boy.

This Thanksgiving didn't go without a little drama however...I, unfortunately jammed my index finger on my left hand.  We were playing football and I was trying to catch a pass from Jason.  Nick had just intercepted the previous pass, and I wasn't about to let him intercept again!  lol  However, I should have...haha...it would have saved me some pain!  I thought my finger was broken at first.  I could not move it.  My finger is now a nice shade of blue and purple from the first joint to my knuckle.  Thankfully it IS my left hand, because I can't do anything with it and I would be up the creek if I couldn't use my right hand.  Here are 2 pics of my injury...let's play which one of these is not like the other ?

After we left Union, we headed to Jason's mom and dad's for some white bean chicken chili!  It was so good!

We had a wonderful day and have MUCH to be thankful for...today and everyday!  :)  We are so blessed!
