Well, today is a day to celebrate 1sts! 1st day of Spring!! Yahoo! It is the beginning of my favorite time of year! I love when everything starts blooming. It starts getting warm! Thunderstorms start rolling in! I LOVE everything about Spring and Summer!
Today also marks the end of my 1st trimester! YES! I am so thankful we have made it this far. There are definitely a few things that are different about this pregnancy than my first:
The first difference is that there has definitely been more nausea. I didn't have any the first few weeks and was hopeful I would be as lucky with that this time around as I was when I was pregnant with Ian. However, unfortunately the nausea came...and is still coming. Hopefully, that'll cease in the next week or so. However, I try to look at it as a sign...a sign that things are still going well.
The second difference with this pregnancy is my sense of smell. Geez...I think my nose kicked into overdrive for this pregnancy or something. Normally, and you can ask Jason, I can't smell ANYTHING...even if it's right underneath my nose! However, I can't hardly walk into a restaurant without the urge to head straight to the restroom. Ok, it's not quite that bad...but almost.
The third difference that I have noticed is my energy level. I realize that this time around I have a 2 year old to chase around and am working extra hours on the biggest project I have ever worked on at work...but I just cannot seem to catch up on my energy. I come home...and literally, all I want to do is take a bath and go to bed. I am hoping that I'll gain some more energy in the 2nd trimester!
Finally, the final difference that I have noticed is my craving of oranges. I really didn't have many cravings with Ian. Although, Jason would beg to differ...I kind of have cravings all the time...even when I am not pregnant. I can't help it...I like to eat! Anyway...I am eating oranges like they are going out of style. I have always liked oranges...but I have never had to add them to our grocery list like EVERY week. :) Maybe it means that this kid's blood will runneth orange and be a Tiger fan as well! Actually, he/she will be a Tiger fan whether they want to or not...at least until they are old enough to make the decision for themselves! :)
My next dr. appt. is next Thursday (3/25). If you think about it, say a little prayer that we hear a nice strong heartbeat and that we get a good report!

Funny, I craved oranges with Riley....they tasted ten times better too! Congrats on conquering the first trimester.
I craved LEMONS with Allison! We would come out of the grocery and I would eat through the rind.
Hummm....a girl for the Thomas'?????
But then again, I couldn't stand the smell of eggs with Johnie...and he hates eggs!
Love you! Starla
I craved lots of fruit when I was pregnant with Jaina, but then couldn't eat anything sweet with Jayce!! I hope the nausea eases off soon!
