We doggy sat my parent's dog, Abbie, while they were in Disney World with my sister and her family. Abbie is a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She is a very special dog. She was given to me for my 21st bday. However, when Jason and I got married and I moved out of my parents house, it didn't seem right to me for Abbie and I BOTH to leave. So, I left her with my parents. After all, she knew their house as "home". She is the sweetest dog in the world...and VERY smart. Jason taught her to sit, "speak" (which means bark), lay, backup, turn around, and "thank you", which meant to drop the ball after retrieving it. She barks at the sink when she's thirsty and barks at the back door when she needs to go out to the bathroom. She gets a little excited when someone first comes in the room, but then settles down and just wants to lay beside you. She very much loves her people. However, her most favorite thing to do in the world is chase a ball. If you take her out in the yard and throw the ball for her, she will run after it as long as you throw it. When Jason and I were still living at my parents house, which we did for a few months after we got married, Abbie slept in the bed with us. Yes, there were times when the 3 of us would be spooning! lol She thinks she is human. She is a great dog.
Then, there is Sophie. Sophie is about 7 months now. She is very much a puppy...a very hyper puppy. She too is a Jack Russell and looks like a miniature Abbie. Almost the same markings. Unfortunately, we haven't taught her any tricks yet...but we need to. She loves Ian and they really enjoy playing together. She doesn't just lay down though like Abbie does though. She is going, going, going, ALL the time.
Abbie did very well over here while my parents were at Disney World. Abbie and Sophie really enjoyed having each other for company...although, I think Sophie got on Abbie's nerves at times. Sophie just wanted to play and play and play, and Abbie just wanted to lay down and rest every now and then. It rained the Sunday after my parents left, and after Sophie and Abbie played in the muddy yard Monday, they were definitely more of a muddy red clay color than white. So, they got to take a bath that night:

Here they are sun bathing in the back yard:

I think Sophie really enjoyed having Abbie over for the week!
