Rough Week of moving

As most of you know, we closed on our new house last Friday, and from then until now has been a complete blur!

Last Friday night, Jason came directly from closing and began to rip down the wallpaper in the kitchen and bathroom. By Monday, we had the kitchen and master bedroom primed and painted.

Then, Tuesday came the fun of actually moving all our STUFF from the other house. Talk about exhausting. Jason and I both worked every day until 5, then one of us took Ian over to Jason's parents house so that Sherri could watch Ian while we moved. Thanks Sherri! You were such a BIG help! Then, Jason's dad, my mom, sister, brother-in-law, Jason and I moved each night from about 6-9. Thank you ALL so very much! What would we have done without you? My dad primed and painted the entire master bathroom and trimmed out the master bedroom (I hate doing the trim part!) So, he was such a big help too. He even had a tooth pulled oned day and was back painting the next. Anyways, I cannot thank my family enough for all of their help last week. Note to self though, next time we move, we are going to pack things ahead of time and include a weekend in the moving schedule!

I miss our old house...that house has so much character and holds a lot of great memories for Jason, Ian, and myself. Not to mention, the HUGE closet that we are going to miss. I know we'll make new memories here at our new house, but there was a bittersweet feeling knowing that we will no longer call that house home. So, what are we doing with that house? We are holding on to and renting it. Our first renters is a couple from our church, Tim and Olivia, and their 2 children. They moved in today. In preparation for their arrival, we asked Starla, another lady from our church who cleans houses, if she would come in and clean for us. She willingly came and did a FABULOUS job. Thanks to Starla too! She was also a huge help and vital to our moving process. Tim and Oliva are very sweet people and I know that they will take great care of our house while they are there.

We stayed our first night in our new house on Thursday night and none of us had a good night. First of all, I got into bed and just laid there staring up at the ceiling. It felt weird being in a strange place. I am sure it will feel like home soon though. Ian was up at 4AM and every thirty minutes after that until we got him up for good at 7AM.

Last night was a little better on us all. Ian did wake up at 5, but we got him back to sleep in about 5 mins. and he slept until 7am.

Now, comes the fun part of unpacking and finding everything, learning where light switches are and which ones do what, etc.

So, we are all slowly adjusting, things are starting to find their new place, and the new house is slowly starting to look like home.

"After" pics still to come...

So, as I close this post, I have to also thank God. He has blessed beyond measure and for everything, we are thankful. As for me and my NEW house, we will serve the Lord!
