Pocket Rockers were popular:
how about Simon:
and you can't forget about good ole Teddy Ruxpin:
Jason and I, well, more me than Jason, were reminiscing last night of the toys we had and played with when we were growing up. I started listing off some, several of which are listed above, and it brought back so many memories. Of course, the bottom piece of my Teddy Ruxpin's mouth fell off eventually...but I LOVED him...and he read me many stories.
I learned recently (from another friend of mines blog that I read a couple of months ago) that there is a new and improved Teddy Ruxpin out there who plays MP3 files. So, no more tapes that come unwound and get all tangled up inside Teddy. I also read that the new Teddy is slightly smaller and not as bulky and heavy...guess he lost some weight since the 80's! haha
Anyways...I think Ian would enjoy Teddy Ruxpin as much as I did...so I am thinking about asking Santa to bring him one for Christmas!

Teddy Ruxpin was scary! When he started to run low on batteries, and the speech got slow and evil sounding. Not that I had one..... it was my sisters (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
