Friday morning started out as usual. I got up, hopped in the shower, got Ian up and fed him breakfast etc. Well, about 7AM, my father-in-law calls Jason's cell phone saying that they had just received a reverse 911 call about a chemical spill just about 1/4 mile from our house. Then, my sister called to tell us. We appreciated them calling us, because our land line is not working right now and our TV was on "The Wiggles" on Disney.
They closed a few schools and were asking those near the spill to stay in doors and to turn off your air condition. So, Jason loaded Ian on up and took him to daycare. I finished getting ready real quick and headed on in to work before they closed off the area. As Jason and I were leaving, we saw fire trucks and hazmat trucks flying by.
Thankfully, it was not a huge spill and noone was injured. They had it contained and under control quickly. Below is the article from GOUPSTATE.com:
