Barack Obama

is our President-Elect as of last night and will be sworn into office in January, becoming the 44th President of the United States of America.

I am not going to go into all of my political views, but I am going to be honest and say that I was disappointed this morning when I found out that Obama had won. Yes, I found out this morning, because I went to bed before he was declared the winner. However, I wasn't surprised. I watched a good bit of the election coverage...but I went to bed early because I was tired and because after Ohio had been called and I saw how Virginia and Florida were looking, I did the math and I knew that there were not enough electoral votes left for McCain.

I did, however, watch Obama's speech this morning and McCain's concession speech.

Although I voted for McCain, I will respect Obama's authority, for that is what the bible says we must do. Romans 13:1 - "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God."

No matter who's in office, God is still in control. He is our only hope. Psalms 33:12 reads, "blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for His own inheritance". If we put our trust in God, he will direct our path and our country. We live in hard times right now, but God is all knowing and has all the answers...all we have to do is seek Him.

I could have written your post word for word! I'm praying hard that God will guide him in the right direction.
