Tonight, Jason, Ian, and I grabbed a bite to eat at Fuddrucker's...and then headed downtown for the annual Dickens of a Christmas.
It was brutally COLD. My feet are still thawing as I type this blog.
The website said that the lighting of the tree was supposed to happen at 7:30PM. What they didn't say was that 5 people get up and speak, then a children's choir sings 3 songs, and then the Spartanburg Philharmonic orchestra performs several pieces including about an 8 Christmas song medley, which they lit the tree during the last song of that medley...FINALLY at about 8:10. Not meaning to complain...but it was 31 degrees and we had a 19 month old who was not very happy since it was past his bedtime. The children's choir and the orchestra were very good...it was just a long time to wait with a little one.
Anyways, the tree was really pretty and Ian really liked the big "KISSMESS CHEE!" (once lit of course!)

We ran into my co-worker, Peggy, and her three girls. Peggy really captured Ian's attention for awhile and helped him forget he was cold! Thanks Peggy!

We went, too! Except it will be weeks before I have my pictures up, I bet! You are so fast! We were eating at the Monson Noodle house at 7:45 so we thought we missed the lighting completely! Oh well, we should have gone back down to the plaza.
