Making an offer and refinancing

Today, we made an offer on another house. For those who do not know...there is a busy 4 lane highway in front of our house. While not a huge deal, it does worry me somewhat having a little toddler who can now open doors and move at the speed of light. We also need a little more space for when #2 comes along. #2 is not on the way...but we know we want more children and will need a little more space when that time comes. So, we have made an offer on a 3 bedroom 2 bath house here in Roebuck. The prospective house is in a neighborhood and has a garage!! We do not have a garage right now...and although not the end of the world, it is no fun loading a toddler in the rain or into a car covered in ice. So, I'm definitely excited about the possibility of a garage!

We LOVE the house we are in right now. This house was built in 1930 and has so much character. The previous owners did a fantastic job remodeling the interior. They knocked out walls and tiled the counters and floor. They also put in brand new cabinets in the kitchen. We have some wonderful memories here, including the arrival of our first child. Memories that I will never forget. So, yeah, we will miss this house if our offer is accepted and we move to this prospective house...but are looking forward to making memories in the new house.

As for the house we are in now, we are going to hold on to it and hopefully rent it out.

In addition to making an offer on another house today, we are also in the process of refinancing this house. So, I have definitely felt like I have been signing my life away over the last two days.
