Ian is feeling much better today! Yay! I'm so glad. He's back to his busy busy self. Although I didn't enjoy him being sick...I sure did love all the hugs I was getting. ;)
Last week when I picked Ian up one day, daycare had a sent a note home with Ian saying that his shots were not up to date...that he was missing the 4th dose of his HIB shot. We already knew this. When we were at the health dept. in July for his 15 mo. shots, they said that there was a nationwide shortage on the HIB and that hopefully they would have more in by the time he was due for his next immunizations. So, one day last week, my mom faxed me a copy of his records with a note stating the shortage. I gave the note to the director and asked if that would suffice until his next immunization. Today, I had a note saying that they needed the original copy of the immunization records and a note from Ian's physician stating that he was ok to wait.
So, after I picked him up, I headed straight to my mom's office to get an original copy of his immunizations and to get a note from Ian's dr. Well, while we were there...they found that they had some HIB on hand. So, they checked Ian's temp to make sure he didn't have any fever, and then one of the nurses gave him his 4th dose of HIB. Poor little guy...sick as a dog one day, shot in the leg the next. He cried and I felt so bad.
However, I am glad that he is now up to date! Going to take an original copy to daycare tomorrow.
