Work = Fun!

Friday was our team POE (pursuit of excellence). POE is where my team spends time with each other doing some team building activities and just having fun with each other outside of work. In case you haven't noticed, Milliken is all about TLA's (three letter acronyms).

First of all, we started our day at Krispy Kreme at 8:45AM! Yummy! My favorite are the chocolate glazed. Mmmm.



After Krispy Kreme, we headed to the Soup kitchen at 9:30 to help and prepare for the 11:30 lunch.



We helped to unload trucks and move hot dog buns...and lots of them!






One of my jobs was to mix up the salad...and lots of it!




We served 200-300 people salad, pizza, chips, a drink, and ice cream for dessert. It was a great experience. We had several of the people that came to eat thank us for nourishing their bodies.








After the soup kitchen, we headed back to Chris' house, my boss. We ate pizza and just hung out for a few hours playing ping pong and swimming.

It was a fun day! We asked if we could start volunteering at the Soup Kitchen every Friday followed by pool time at Wert's...but I don't think Milliken will go for that.
