Another first

I'm still in shock as I type this post.

This morning, as Jason and I were still in bed, Ian came walking into our bedroom...at 6AM...by himself!!

So, for those that don't know, our new house is a split floor plan...where our bedroom and Ian's bedroom are on complete opposite ends of the house.

Well, this morning, I heard, "mommy, mommy, mommy". Each "mommy" got louder and louder...and I sat up and told Jason, Ian is in the den! Two seconds later, Ian comes walking into our bedroom.

You may remember me blogging about when Ian fell out of the crib a few weeks ago. Well, this time, there was no crying. So, I don't really think he fell out of the crib this time. If he did fall, he didn't get hurt. I think he climbed out and landed on his feet. Which means...a whole new era is upon us!

We bought a crib that converts from a crib to a toddler bed to a full bed. Well, about 4 weeks ago, we ordered the toddler rail that fits on the front of the crib. The toddler rail has a section cut out to where your child can climb in and out of the bed. So, at least he won't be climbing from the full height of the crib. However, it won't be here for another 4 or so weeks. So, in the meantime, I guess we'll just have to hope he doesn't get hurt if he continues to attempt climbing out.

I hear all the time of other parents whose children get out of bed and come into their bedrooms or roam their house in the middle of the night...but it had not happened to us until this morning. Now, I know what it's like. It's just odd...I have no idea how long he had been up or what he had been doing. He probably came straight from his room to ours...but still...we just moved...so he had to maneuver around boxes and bags of clothes...in the dark. It just amazed me to see him come in the room.

Things just got a lot more interesting at the Thomas household!

omg - a crib jumper! that really scares me! you just don't know what they can get into when you are asleep and they are roaming around. can you lock his door from the inside, or can you get one of those tents that keeps him in? girl - i feel your pain and i'm sure we'll be there one day soon!
