Ok...so last night was a scary night. My mom called around 9:30PM saying that my sister, Erin, was at the hospital with an extremely bad headache. Well, since she just had Ryan about a week ago, we all assumed it was an epidural headache. They ran some tests and the anaesthesiologist came back saying that things were not adding up for it to be a spinal headache.
So, they took her for a CT scan. Dr. Hardin, her OB GYN, came back and gave her the results around 11:00PM saying that the CT scan showed bleeding on the brain and that they were going to be moving her to nuero ICU and that it may be the result of an aneurysm. They called the neuro surgeon who also took a look at the CT scan and said that he was leaning towards it not being an aneurysm...and that they would do an MRA in the morning to rule that out. In the meantime, her blood pressure was 200/115 and so they gave her morphine and something to control and bring down the blood pressure.
This morning the MRA results came back negative, which was good news. However, they are still unsure of what caused the bleeding. They said that they may never know. They are going to do an MRI and MRV tonight. Haven't gotten the results back yet...but they are anticipating that they are negative as well.
They are going to keep her in neuro ICU for as long as it takes they said. Hopefully they'll determine the cause very soon and let her go home soon. I know she misses Emma, Morgan, and Ryan...and I am sure they miss her.
I got home around 2:15AM last night. Ian woke me up around 6:45AM and so I got on up shortly thereafter, fed him a bottle and oatmeal, got him dressed and ready and myself dressed and ready and took him to daycare around 8:30AM. Then, I went by the hospital until I heard the results from the MRA. Then, I went on into work.
This evening I went back by there and stayed until 9:00PM to hear the results from the tests that they did tonight...but they said it might even be tomorrow before they know. So, I came on home.
Was supposed to do plyometrics...but I am just drained...so I think I am just going to head to bed and try to get some rest. I'll make this one up one day this week. I don't think I could do it right now if I was forced.
Oh and Ian's followup appt. went great...Dr. Weir said his ears looked good. He said that he definitely had an ear infection...but to just use the drops as long as the ear is draining. That was good news!

I'll be praying for Erin! I hope they figure out what's going on and she is able to get home soon. I can't imagine how much she must miss her kiddos. How scary!
how scary! I am glad it turned out to be something that is already clearing up! I can't imagine having to be hospitalized so soon after birth and not being able to be home with my baby!
